E aaku Nui, e aaku Rahi teenaa koutou katoa. You are warmly welcomed to our website. Kaikoura is certainly one of the most scenic spots in New Zealand, and one of the few places in the world where the mountains meet the sea. If our website does not answer all your questions, or if you need further information, we'd like to hear from you - so please contact the school directly. If you would like to provide us with feedback on the website itself, please email us.

About Us

Our school is a small, rural high school where our core values, and especially our pinnacle value of Excellence, are reflected in our actions, relationships and our aspirations, by our students, as well as our teachers. I am fortunate to lead an enthusiastic and capable staff as we work together to build the school we all want, and which our students and community deserve.

Established in 1971, Kaikoura High School is a co-educational Year 7-13 school that offers a wide range of academic and non-academic courses in the senior school, with the aim of preparing students either for meaningful employment when they leave school, or further training or tertiary education. We aim to offer our students opportunities to become well rounded, knowledgeable and capable young adults who are culturally sensitive and who will contribute to the bi-cultural community of Kaikoura.

Noo reira e Kaokaonui, e Kaokaoroa, huri noa, teenaa koutou katoa. On behalf of the staff and our students, I extend a warm invitation to you to visit our school at Rorrisons Road in Kaikoura.
