Haere Mai
We want to nurture close relationships with our parents and our community. The Principal and staff are always willing to work with parents/caregivers in order to discuss any matter related to the interests of their children. Appointments can be made to meet with the applicable teacher or manager through the school office, by phoning 03 319 5138.
Reporting
We utilise a system of live online reporting. For seniors, this means that once an assessment is finished and entered into the KAMAR system a comment on that work will be made. This means that comments on student progress will occur across the year, not just in two report blocks. The comments are emailed via our KAMAR system and are also visible to parents through the Parent Portal.
For Years 9/10 a comment is made at the conclusion of each term’s courses, so they are also electronic, but four times a year.
Year 7/8 comments are made across the year with more around mid-year and Term 4 as assessments conclude.
Parent Portal
Parents/caregivers/students have access to the School Student Management System called KAMAR. A login and password gives information on newsletters, timetable, attendance, reports and NCEA results.
Principal’s Updates
Principal’s Updates are typically emailed to parents and caregivers on a regular basis. Hard copies are issued to the parents and caregivers who prefer this option. It is also placed on the School website and Facebook page.
Facebook Pages
The School Facebook page is our most frequently updated source of information, regarding upcoming activities, school activities and even some past events. The Facebook page is also used to convey urgent information regarding the day-to-day running of the School. This means of communication is an excellent way for us to communicate with you and your children.
There is also a closed Year 7/8 page relevant for parents/caregivers to join to get more updates specific to this age group. Please fill in the relevant information in order to be accepted by the group.
Academic Review Day
During Term 2 parents are invited during the day to an interview with their students’ form or homeroom teacher to discuss their academic and general progress.
